These days, being a Christian isn’t just about wearing uncomfortable clothes and saying ‘Amen’ to everything. No, not anymore, these days modern Christians live a modern lifestyle. For example, I am a Gospel Reggae DJ … read on to hear my story.

Well, I was born and raised in the UK in a community that had a very strong Caribbean population, especially Jamaicans. Although I am a hybrid of Irish and Scottish roots, my neighborhood had a very strong impact on my life and from a very young age I fell in love with everything Jamaican, not least the sweet, sweet sounds of reggae.

True Reggae has a true sense of class and vintage, which like wine is appreciated more as it ages. Artists like the great Bob Marley, Dennis Brown and Gregory Isaacs have songs that are simply legendary and will make any dancehall rock.

This wonderful musical genre was my passion for years. So it won’t surprise you to learn that when I became a Christian the first thing I did was search for Gospel Reggae music.

In the mid-nineties there weren’t many options, in fact I have to be honest and say that some of the published material was pretty scary. However, in recent years, several high-profile reggae artists have become Christians. This includes people like Papa San, Chevelle Franklyn, and Stitchie. In fact, I just heard that Sasha, a well known vocalist from Jamaica who has appeared with greats like Sean Paul, has now become a Christian and is releasing music.

So my passion has turned into an obsession and now I enjoy a worldwide reputation as a specialized DJ who plays nothing but Gospel Reggae. I have my own radio show and I’m part of a Gospel Reggae sound called Soulcure … life is good.

These days Gospel Reggae has come a long way, in fact there are so many new albums released that even an addict like me struggles to keep up. Today, there are specialized websites including a number of online web stores stocking literally thousands of the latest in Gospel Reggae and Gospel Dancehall music. You can buy singles such as downloads and hard copies on CD. Besides this, the same can be found in big online stores like Amazon and iTunes.

I know that a lot of people are very interested in music and would love to hear it.
