Writing your official Reiki hours: a common mistake for beginners

With thanks to my lovely Reiki students, this article responds to a common mistake in seeking perceived honesty when recording the number of Reiki hours performed. This is important as in several countries now, such as the UK, the number of Reiki hours performed is essential before the healer can be verified by the governing body, such as the UK Reiki Council.

An overly enthusiastic report on perceived honesty that I find over and over again is the report of time spent in Reiki actions supervised by a Reiki Master. This time counts as a good part of the student’s application and acceptance.

For example, a 60 minute portion of Reiki has often been reported to me as being 40 minutes long, while I know very well that the supervising Reiki teacher has actually given a full 60 minutes.

This is my response to some students. Hope it helps clarify Reiki record keeping.

Like many new Reiki students, you live for excellence, and that is highly commendable. However, in the search for the right way to do things, we sometimes force ourselves to be what we think is honest. But we only do it because we don’t understand what constitutes a Reiki session.

Of course, you are still learning, so it’s great for you to learn this so early.

Let me illustrate you. I was surprised, for example, by the Reiki action report. Reiki participation is one hour. It is an essential part of your development, so do not write 2×20 minutes = 40. The participation was 60 minutes. Let me explain. When someone sees me for an hour-long Reiki treatment, we start by talking about what they want from Reiki, dispelling any myths they have about it, reassuring them, and explaining what is going to happen. They take off their shoes at the beginning, put them back on at the end, and then we talk about the ways to follow, as they normally drink water. This whole procedure is giving them a Reiki session, from start to finish, not just when they are lying on the table.

For example, they can give me very useful information at the beginning, without which their practical healing session would go very wrong (for example, they may be waiting for crystals, and having no crystals there, they can spend all their time on the couch worried and upset, rather than letting Reiki help them). Or at the end, you could give them a Reiki Principle to say for themselves, or a chakra color that can help them strengthen a weak chakra. I also receive payment from them, which helps them to be in control of their healing and to be more willing to participate in it and improve.

What I’m saying is, please don’t discount those essential Reiki healing moments just because you’re not lying down or sitting with your hands on the person. This is only part of the Reiki session. Sometimes, it is the part where the most healing and self-development occurs. At other times, it’s when what looks like general chatter or drinking water occurs. The most exciting thing for me is seeing that you are learning and doing everything you have to do. Now you just need to add this last learning that I am giving you here and apply it to all the sessions in your Reiki Journal.

For example, if you put your hands on yourself for 15 minutes while watching TV, remember that before that, you intended to do so, maybe you made yourself a cup of tea or poured yourself some water, and then such Once he’s stretched out, and I reflected a bit on the session. That makes it more like a 20 to 25 minute healing session. A great lesson to learn. We do the 21-day self-healing after Reiki 1 not only to heal the obvious, but also to delve into the discipline of healing, reflecting, noticing changes (or not), and how to fully acknowledge the wonderful work of our own that we have. done!

Thank you for the blessing of walking with you on this part of your Reiki path.
