Are body wraps a scam?

What is a body wrap?

In the golden days, they were simply an excellent bandage or saran wrap wrapped tightly around your body. However, with the rise of science and technology, they are much more than just something to make you feel a little thinner.

Today, a body wrap is likely to be a treatment where you lather up with a mineral-rich body mask made from seaweed and other botanicals. And, depending on the treatment, it can last anywhere from 15 minutes to 4 hours.

They are performed in many salons and day spas, and are becoming increasingly popular as a private home treatment.

Are all treatments the same?

No!

Essentially, salons and retailers sell two different types of wrap. Both types of treatment will cause dramatic improvements in skin healing, conditioning, and hydration. However, there is a radical difference between the two!

A ‘big night’ treatment

This first type of treatment is especially beneficial for a special occasion or a large event. Allows you to drastically lose inches through water loss. These can be particularly useful on a night out or weekend when you want to look slimmer and fitter. However, the inch loss from this type of body wrap is strictly temporary, much like what you would get from a prolonged session in a sauna.

A ‘permanent’ treatment

This other type of body wrap is known for its ability to aid weight loss. This type of treatment creates inch loss by allowing the lymphatic system to successfully flush out stored toxins. These toxins enter your system through the environment, poor diet, and pollutants!

Permanent treatment also stimulates lymphatic drainage, which in turn releases toxins and fatty acids from the cells. These toxins are then removed along with the system’s natural waste process.

A telltale sign of this type of wrapping is a necessary step in the instructions for ‘drinking water’. Your system needs this water to aid in the release of toxins, and without it, your body will not be able to perform this process properly.

The results of this type of treatment can vary depending on an individual’s level of toxicity; however, the inch loss gained is usually permanent.

So are body wraps a scam?

The answer is absolutely not.

Experts agree that body wraps are great helpers for losing stubborn weight, feeling great, and living healthy.

Body wraps can serve a variety of purposes, depending on the needs of the person. If you have loose skin, have a big event coming up, or are looking to lose those unwanted inches, there’s a different treatment for you.
