Executive Coaching Secrets to Stop Worrying and Relax – The Brain Science of Productivity

stop worrying and relax

Are you tirelessly busy and often overwhelmed with a Do list that seems to grow like Topsy?

I was recently facilitating an emotional intelligence workshop. One of the executives was quite stressed constantly checking his messages on his blackberry cell phone. He was so distracted.

I suggested that you could be less anxious and more productive and resilient to stress if you learned to take time during your day to breathe deeply, reflect, and be present in the moment. Fortunately, he was open to the suggestion.

Are you frantically busy or energetic and highly focused and productive?

Everyone you meet these days is overworked and out of time. In our technology-enhanced world, we have more helpers and time-saving systems than ever before.

So why isn’t there enough time to juggle our work, home and health responsibilities? We have a better quality of life, but we also increase our stress levels by taking on more tasks than we have the resources to handle.

Most people are stressed and out of patience and out of time. Neither advanced education, nor time management models, nor the variety of organizational tools available have provided us with a sustainable means of managing the demands of the 21st century.

It doesn’t matter which one we use: Microsoft Outlook, a Day-Timer, PDA or iPhone. They are inadequate to handle the speed, complexity, and changing priorities of our current work environment.

There is a tremendous need for new methods, systems and, above all, habits to keep us on track.

We need to learn to think clearly about our work before we undertake it. Thinking in a concentrated way to define the desired results is something that few people do. But focusing on the thought of desired results is one of the most effective methods available for being productive on purpose.

Working with an experienced executive coach trained in emotional intelligence and incorporating leadership assessments like the Bar-On EQ-i and CPI 260 can help you become a less stressed, more helpful and productive leader. He can become a leader who models emotional intelligence and social intelligence, and who inspires people to happily commit to the company’s strategy and vision.
