Feng Shui Mistakes! Avoid These Ten Most Common Mistakes!

1. Feng Shui-ing your clutter!

The number one most powerful way to change the energies in your home and transform your life is to clear your clutter. It is the first step that must be taken before anything else when applying Feng Shui. If you skip this step, you could actually activate the negative chi in your house (surrounding the clutter) than activate the positive chi (in the areas that have been released and cleared for good chi circulation).

2. Waiting for Immediate Magic

You have heard about the great things that happened to your friend as soon as they implemented the principles of Feng Shui, so you expect all those great things to happen to you right now. Be patient, some changes are immediate while others may take a few weeks or months. Feng Shui is different for everyone. Each person has different intentions, timelines, and energy patterns to deal with. Things will change, just keep the momentum going!

3. No goals

Feng Shui works well when you really know what you want to achieve. Write down specific goals, whether they be romantic partnerships, career, health, and start focusing your efforts and intentions on those specific goals. If you’re not focused, the results won’t be as focused or dramatic either!

4. Not fully accepting it

Sometimes you may want to achieve a specific goal and not be willing to accept anything else. Feng Shui will work to get you what you need, but it may not be exactly the way you expect it to be. The Universe will unfold to give you what you need in your life at that moment to grow and develop, trust it and accept the results, whatever they may be!

5. Embrace it to the extreme!

There is a famous saying that goes “A little goes a long way”. You don’t need to buy a dozen crystals or completely change all your accessories. A small crystal, a bowl of still water, the image of a sailboat may be all that is needed! Don’t overdo it, too much too soon can be overwhelming and lead to chaos, take small steps, make subtle changes and watch the results unfold.

6. Forcing it on others

Once you see the remarkable changes that occur with the use of Feng Shui, you’ll want your friends and family to experience them too! But don’t impose your beliefs on others; they must be prepared to accept them for themselves. If someone doesn’t believe in Feng Shui, don’t do it without their knowledge. For example, if you are making changes for your child, explain to them what you are doing, if they are indifferent, that’s fine, but they need to be aware. Acceptance will come!

7. Your house doesn’t look like you anymore!

Some people make the mistake of redecorating their homes with traditional Chinese cultural items, as they believe that Feng Shui will work better with this decoration. This is not true! Decorate to your style while incorporating the Feng Shui elements you need. For Feng Shui to work, you must love your surroundings and objects; if you don’t, you won’t get the results. A beautiful round metal bowl can be placed where metal is needed; no need to put Chinese coins there. Use the guidelines in conjunction with your own personal style!

8. Be involved

Hiring a professional to perform a Feng Shui audit is always a good idea, however you must be actively involved. If the advice is to change color schemes or purchase certain items, make sure you fully understand why and fully purchase! Your intention must be there for you to get the optimal results. Does Feng Shui work even without intention? Yes, of course, but why settle for average results? Get brilliant results!

9. Do not continue on the path

If you really want results, keep the momentum going and follow through on everything you want to do or change. A big mistake most people make is to change something and then never revisit it. Keep a notebook – write down what you want to change, not small changes, if it’s not what you want, add a few more improvements or fixes!

Stay focused and keep going!

10. Not educating yourself!

There are many schools of Feng Shui, be it the traditional compass, shape school, flying star, or western. While all schools produce results, it is important that you feel comfortable with what you are practicing, do your research, and remember: HAVE FUN!
