Year after year, when the weather improves, we are willing to have a garden party as often as possible. That is why it is worth knowing how to behave and receive friends and family in an appropriate, elegant and well-mannered way, so that they feel good in our garden.

invitations

The way we invite people to a garden party is our individual choice, but it also depends on how formal this gathering is. If this small event is related to something big, such as an anniversary, a family member’s birthday, or inviting our boss, we can even make paper invitations. If the meeting is less formal and we are inviting our friends, we can do it over the phone or even by email.

Service

Due to the place of the party we should not use our best service – our inheritance from the great-grandfather. But it also doesn’t mean we should serve food on paper plates. When having a party in the garden near our house or our gazebo, we must prepare the service as we would do the party in our house: regular plates, forks, knives and glasses. A different situation would be having a picnic – plastic items should do the trick.

Menu

When preparing a menu we must think about all diners and their tastes. Not everyone eats meat or the only type of meat. That is why we must prepare salads, grilled or fresh vegetables, fruits, fish, let’s make it tasty and variable in order to give everyone the opportunity for a full meal. The same applies to liquids, not just alcohol, but soft drinks, juices, tea in a thermos.

When we go to the garden party (we don’t organize it) we also have what belongs to us. Flowers or a bottle of wine for the lady are always in good taste. If the party in the garden is organized on the occasion of a birthday, we must not forget a gift. Of course, we need to talk to the hosts if there are any courses we need to take with us or their parts.

Clothing

As for our outfit we must behave the same as with the invitations. When the meeting is more formal we must dress formally, if not let it be comfortable. We must also be prepared for bad weather and be prepared for our high heels to hide in the grass.
