Have a conversation with God about healing your pain

“This is what the Lord asks of you: only this, that you act justly, that you love tenderly and that you walk humbly with your God.”
~ Micah 6:8

Conversations with God are vast and definitely diverse. Are his one-dimensional prayers focusing on asking for a precise blessing or blessings, hoping that God will hear his prayer? Has he considered better understanding the will and mind of God? He walks humbly with your God. Perhaps you have not had an intimate experience of associating your thoughts and feelings with God. Below are four essential considerations to begin this journey of inspiration and empowerment.

1- Do not expect an experience of the Apostle Paul

When you pray in your quiet place – In “Your Prayer Journey to Damascus” you should not assume that you will receive an immediate vision, as Paul did, of clarity in your prayer thoughts. Praying on top of “Your Mount Sinai”, you will not receive 10 healing commandments written on stone tablets like Moses. Rarely are prayers to your God answered in such a way. Don’t expect immediate results as you learn to communicate with God in a two-way communication. This requires determination, diligence and patience. God’s answers and inspiration come quietly into your soul, heart, and mind, quietly and gently, not always immediately. Learning to recognize and hear what may seem like silent whispers of inspiration from God is an essential focus worthy of mindful attention.

2- Do not give up

Don’t give up because you experience the uncertainty of your prayers being heard, let alone answered, keep trying with humble determination. The answers to his prayers come in God’s timing, not his. Your answers from God will likely come as a quiet whisper. Do not begin your prayers with unbelief, which will never be answered. Don’t hesitate, but have a calm and hopeful confidence that your communication will progress. The voice of your God will be delicate and soft, but it will be a wonderful sacred experience and a blessing for you.

3- Do not be discouraged

Do not be discouraged if your closeness and response to prayers elude and escape your most sincere efforts. Fine-tuning and tailoring your communion with your God to be a personal dialogue, direct two-way communication can bring you immense inspiration and comfort to stop grieving and begin to heal. Keep praying, keep trying, and with your continued hard work, it is possible to hear God’s voice in his way in his time.

4- Let me share

Praying to your God can be comforting, inspiring, and empowering. In your common way with your God. As you experience immense pain and painful emotions, praying often and mindfully can be your anchor of hope, peace, and strength. Inspiration, empowerment, and feelings of peace are important during grief and mourning. Trying to solve the problems in your life alone is a challenge. Seek the power that only comes from God.

My belief in a Supreme Being has given me greater strength. I testify of a God who loves me and knows me by name and watches over me through thick and thin. I express my gratitude for that belief. My heart has been comforted by those things in which I believe. Although I don’t understand the reason for my grievance, my discouragement has been met and conquered by my nurtured and harvested beliefs. For this understanding and blessing, I express my humble thanks. I invite you to seek comfort, peace, and strength through communion with your God often, over and over again, with more sincerity and energy than ever before, as you seek new purpose and peace. I know that God loves you and me.
