Definition of PRIDE

Pride is an excessive self-esteem; an unreasonable assumption of one’s superiority in talents, beauty, wealth, achievement, rank, or elevation in office, manifested in lofty airs, aloofness, reserve, and often the contempt of others.

The more I walk with the Lord, the more I feel the difference that sin makes to my heart. When sin seeps into my heart, it is like poison to my soul. I can go from having a light heart to having a heavy burden on my heart in no time. I hate it. I can’t take it Sometimes the pain feels too much to bear. The gap in my spirit is such that it totally consumes my mind, body and soul. I cannot operate correctly when I know that I have a hidden sin. I know there is a reason for this heavy burden, pain, and turmoil in my heart. God is working to make me a new creation and give me a new heart that no longer likes sin.

It is a very painful process when you begin to realize that there is sin in your heart. It is probably the most difficult achievement you will have in life. The pain, agony, stress, and confusion that come from realizing sin in your heart and admitting to God and people that you have offended is very difficult, especially if the sin has been sitting there for a while. The process can be long, painful, and sometimes longer than you would have liked, but it feels so good when it’s over. You feel so much better and lighter when you’re done, and you come back stronger.

As much as my flesh does not want to be shown my sin, God makes my heart want to be shown my sin so that I can grow stronger and healthier spiritually. I started hating sin more because I can’t stand taking poison. The magnitude of my own sin against God and all the consequences that result from my sin are getting harder and harder to swallow. The cleansing process is also becoming more and more difficult as I pick up the pieces of the destruction my sin has caused me and others.

When sin enters your heart, it begins to pour poison into you, and the only way you can prevent it from taking over your body and causing an epidemic is to cry out to God in repentance for help, forgiveness, and mercy.

Pride is often the root of most sins in our lives.

Examples of the sin of pride include:

• Comparison of myself with others.
• Extravagance
• Wrong priorities with oneself, OUR APPEARANCE (hair gel in men, worldly look, tight clothing, makeup, etc.)
• Difficulty showing love to others.
• Difficulty giving to others.
• Pride will steal your joy
• Pride will kindle anger in you
• Pride will allow you to destroy your family, your marriage and your relationships.
• When I don’t trust God
• when i fear the future
• When I’m holding something against someone
• Whenever I think I have the right to do something
• When I think I have control over a situation or a person
• When I think I should be in control, I say that my own opinion is worth more than God’s or anyone else’s.
• When I worry, I tell God that His plan is not good enough for me. me trust
• When I think I deserve more in life: title, money, promotion, bigger house, better car
• When I put myself above others and look down on them and treat them as if they are not worthy of being in my presence
• Pride assures us that we were not so bad and that our sins are not so bad.
• Pride tells us that our sin is not really sin but normal, that everyone else does it.
• Pride will make us agree to assistance or help for our sin, but not the surrender of our sin.
• Pride will make us act very respectable and moral on the outside so that the world, our friends, our family, and even ourselves don’t have to deal with the reality of our sinful misconduct and negative attitudes of disgust, hurt, harshness. , and the uproar that will result from the truth being known.
• Pride will fight to do better, it will make us cry for our sins, but it will not save us from the destruction of our sins.
• Pride doesn’t understand why God calls us sinners

1) Submit to God- Return to His authority and repent of your sins.

3) Get closer to God- Spend more time in His word and in prayer, do a self-examination of your sin and its consequences in your own life and in the lives of others.

4) Cleanse your hands of sin- Stop any activity that leads you to continue in sin, no matter how drastic (avoid places, avoid situations that promote your sin, change jobs, get rid of internet, television, etc.)

Also, Cleanse your hands of sin by humbling yourself and admitting your sin to those whom you have offended. This is very important to gain a clean conscience free from the cycle of your sin.

5) Purify your double-minded heart- James chapter one warns us not to ask God for things that we are not really sure we want him to give us. Ask yourself, do I really want God to humble me? Do I really want to change? Do I really want to deal with the pain, humiliation, and consequences of my sin? Do I really want to be holy? Do I really want to hate sin and love the things of God?
