With crazy gas prices, people are looking at motorcycle gas mileage. More people are considering motorcycles to reduce their gas costs. I got over 50 mpg in my 2004 Road King Custom which has a five speed transmission. The new six speed will certainly give you better mileage.
As you can see in the list below, Harley-Davidson motorcycles get great gas mileage ranging from around 53 mpg for the big Screamin Eagle Ultra Classic and Screamin Eagle DYNA, both with the 110-cubic-inch engine, to about 60 mpg for the 883 Sportster.
If you’re considering a motorcycle to reduce your gas costs, consider the type of riding you’ll be doing. If you’re considering an 883 Sportster for commuting to and from work, keep in mind the types of roads you’ll be traveling on. The Sportster gets excellent gas mileage, but I wouldn’t want to spend a lot of time on the road with it. If you’re going to be doing a lot of road riding, I’d consider something bigger. Either way, you’ll save money on gas and have fun doing it. Here is a mileage estimate list for Harley motorcycles.
