The Victoria Jazz Society is a local organization that works to enrich the Jazz and Blues community. The Society produces two major music festivals each year; the Vancouver Island Blues Bash and the TD Victoria International Jazzfest, as well as a concert series packed with artists from all over.

The Victoria Symphony is one of the largest performing arts organizations on Vancouver Island. Now in its 70th year of operation, the Symphony will produce more than 50 performances between September and May. Every year on the British Columbia Day long weekend, the Victoria Symphony presents the very popular Symphony Splash in Victoria’s Inner Harbor.

The Ancient Music Society of the Islands (EMSI), founded in 1985, is a volunteer-run non-profit society that produces concerts by internationally renowned soloists and ensembles, as well as accomplished local musicians. The EMSI’s approach is to present original instruments, historical performance practices, and accurate scores.

New for 2011, the Victoria International Buskers Festival entertained people with all kinds of free street performances, some of which were musical. This fun event is already scheduled to return in July 2012, you should see it next summer.
