Never give up? It is not possible unless you follow the 3 R’s

no, not those 3R.

Please keep reading.

“Never give up.” A universal call to stand firm and move on. This sweeping message of perseverance is shared by well-meaning humans to encourage other humans to go all the way and not stop or back down when they hit a rough patch in life or business.

Without qualifying and modifying this suggestible message, it encourages humans to move forward even if faced with an impressive obstacle, an impenetrable barrier, or severe complications on their journey or mission. This could create personal devastation for someone or at the very least could lead to discouragement and subsequent abandonment of someone’s lifelong dream.

I believe in “never give up” but this is what I do before I make the fateful decision to cross and then burn that bridge for sure.

1- I absolutely never give up if:

a) means the world to me and

b) does not put me in jail or physically hurt me.

two- I start there. If those parameters are met, it goes to me. 3R strategy:

Rtreat, Revaluate, Rbeginning.

If you are going to commit to “never give up”, you must do it all or it will never work. Above all, you must understand why you are making such a profound decision.

Me 3R The strategy will help guide you through this new stubborn stance you’ve taken and help you get a sense of what motivates you:

1 – Rtreat-

  • The act or process of backing away or moving away, especially from something dangerous, formidable, or unpleasant.
  • A place that provides peace, tranquility, privacy or security.
  • A period of seclusion, withdrawal, or solitude.

The most important point to understand and embrace here is that “retirement” is temporary. It’s not meant to be “forever”. It is not a sign of failure and it is not a sign that you are giving up.

It’s time to temporarily turn it off and rejuvenate. This is where you close the door, close the phone and lower the blinds.

It’s time to be proud of yourself for being where you are now. You’re out there solving a situation or running with your dreams, but either way, you’re a warrior and you’re doing what most people don’t have the courage to do, knowing what it is, and that’s a great thing.

Relax and don’t think about anything other than being happy and having time to take care of yourself. You do nothing but relax at this point. This step is very critical and will determine what the future holds for you.

2-Revaluate-

  • To consider again, especially with the possibility of change:

Hours or days have passed and you feel rested and refreshed. Now is the time to decide to “never give up” and move forward as the warrior you are or not to move forward and free yourself from the “never give up” contract you signed with yourself. Use the basic questions to determine your next move: who, what, why, when, where, and how. Write it. List the pros and cons.

3-Rbeginning –

  • start or restart.

To advance or not to advance? Based on his introspection and his peripheral investigation, he reassesses his “never give up” stance and makes that decision.

Extremely important: One thing most people don’t do at this point is sit back for at least 24 hours and do nothing or think about anything. It’s crucial to take a quiet look – ‘quiet’ is the operative word – at all of the information and simply make sure one more time that the path you traveled is the same path you really want to resume your journey on.

Good luck. Stay safe out there. Never give up on your dreams. never again

A cordial greeting,

barry
