Why do you have a hard time attracting new guitar students?

Tired of struggling to fill your guitar teaching schedule with new students? This is a very common problem among teachers in the guitar teaching community. The reality is that you MUST know how to attract lots of guitar students on an ongoing basis to make good money teaching lessons. However, this is NOT done by just advertising as much as possible. You need to clearly demonstrate to all prospective guitar students that you are the number one choice for a guitar teacher in your local area.

Here are the six things you must do/demonstrate to prospective guitar students in order to get a lot of new students very quickly:

1. Make it clear to prospective guitar students that your guitar lessons are unique and special compared to any other lesson offered locally.

You will have a hard time attracting many guitar students when your lessons are judged solely on price. When this happens, your students will see all guitar teaching as a simple product where the only point of working with one teacher over another teacher is to save a few bucks. In this case, they will always select whoever is cheaper. To overcome this objection, you need to help them understand the major benefits they’ll get from working with you (that they can’t find anywhere else). Also, you need to let them know that you’ll be able to offer them these things while saving them time and money at the same time. The question is, how can you test this? Here are some ways:

Show any prospective guitar student a list of the students you have trained to become excellent guitarists and musicians.

Explain how you have actually been “coached” by an experienced guitar teacher trainer to get the best results for your students. Keep in mind that this is totally different from having a music degree, as this type of degree will not help you improve as a guitar teacher.

Don’t exclusively teach one-on-one lessons – use a variety of unique formats that will give your students many additional benefits and help them move faster in their performance.

Be the local expert in styling your target students who want to learn.

Once you do these things, the following will happen:

*Future students will see that you really are the best option for them.

*Other local guitar teachers will start losing students because your students will soon discover that YOU help guitarists achieve their goals faster than any other teacher in the area.

2. Customize your guitar instruction to meet the unique needs, goals, and learning styles of your guitar students.

Here is a question you should never ask: “What is the best method to teach guitar students?”. Instead, you need to ask yourself the following question: “What is the best way to get MASSIVE results for my students on a consistent basis?” The answer to this question (as you might suspect) is very complex. However, start by using the following line of thought:

The best and most successful guitar teachers don’t just teach ‘guitar’, they teach ‘people’. What am I talking about exactly? Don’t look for an all-encompassing teaching method. Instead, look for strategies that help each of your students achieve their specific musical goals as quickly and effectively as possible (while keeping them highly motivated throughout the learning process).

3. Help your guitar students learn what they NEED (not just what they think they ‘want’)

You don’t want to be that guitar teacher who teaches students only what they “think they should be learning.” It is very easy for students to become distracted and sidetracked from their ultimate musical goals when they are trying to learn things that ‘look interesting’, but have no real benefit to them. With this in mind, they will often try to convince you that they should learn these kinds of things and this can also be very distracting (if you let it). The truth is that the vast majority of students have no idea what they should learn and why they should learn it. That is why they are the students and you are the teacher. You will attract many more guitar students once you make great players out of the ones you already have. This only happens when they achieve their musical goals as quickly and effectively as possible, so don’t let them get sidetracked just when they ‘think’ they should be learning something.

4. Work with a proven expert to improve your guitar teaching skills

The #1 mistake most guitar teachers make that ruins their local reputation (taking away from their ability to earn good money): Teaching guitar lessons with a trial and error approach. There is hardly anything worse than telling your students that you have learned to teach guitar through trial and error. Many of them will take this as a sign of their own incompetence and seek lessons from someone who seems more capable of helping them get results. Think about it. Would you pay someone to fill a cavity in your tooth if you were working on trial and error? Would you sit in that dentist’s chair? I don’t believe it! The same applies to your guitar students. They are not dummies, they can tell a tricks teacher from someone who has really mastered the art of guitar instruction. Don’t overlook this point: find an expert guitar teacher who will show you exactly what he needs to do to get the best results for his students.

You most likely know that I offer training for guitar teachers. With this in mind, you may be under the impression that the only reason I wrote this article is to promote this program… but it’s not. The truth is that I really don’t care who trains you to become an excellent guitar teacher. I am simply letting you know that you need to do this to be successful in your guitar teaching business.

5. Enrich the musical life of your students by expanding their guitar playing goals to make them larger in scope.

In most cases, people who want to learn guitar with you:

* I have no idea what can actually be achieved with the guitar. They have a very limited understanding of how to set truly BIG goals.

*They have no faith in themselves and as a result go after very small goals based on what they believe is possible rather than what they REALLY want to achieve.

For example, many of your guitar students may think that they simply want to learn how to play fast guitar licks, songs, or specific styles. The fact is that if you showed them how much they can really achieve, they would want to achieve much more. Mediocre guitar teachers will simply help their guitar students learn songs, play great licks, or achieve other small goals during their lessons. Eventually, the student will be able to do these things and will stop because there seems to be no reason to continue (since the teacher never made him aware of the greater musical possibilities beyond his basic goals).

It is your job as a guitar teacher to open the minds of your students to a new dimension of musical possibilities. This will motivate them to continue working with you for a long time and to tell everyone they know about your lessons. Be sure to help your students develop their musical goals from the most basic to the largest and most long-term and help them become excellent musicians.

6. You really care A LOT about helping your students (and show them this!)

Once you show that you really care about helping your guitar students (more than any other guitar teacher), you will be able to attract new students and keep them for long periods of time. There are countless ways you can do this, however to keep this article short I’ll just mention one: Instead of spending all the money you make teaching lessons on other things, use some of it to directly increase the amount of value they get. his students. to have you as his teacher. Host group jam sessions, parties, dinners, or other events that only your students can attend. Don’t charge them for this! Give it to them 100% free to let them know that they are part of something truly special and that taking classes with you brings much more benefit than just learning to play the guitar. Most guitar teachers never do anything like this (making you really stand out from the crowd!).

Here’s what to do next

After reading this article, you have discovered many ways to attract many new guitar students. To get the most benefit from this information, start implementing these ideas into your guitar teaching business right now. Once you do this, you will quickly gain many new students, earn more money, and develop a positive reputation in your local community as the best guitar teacher.
