What are the Oidz? Oidz is also known as Magnetic Sizzlers, Powerbuzz Magnets, AsterOidz, and a few other names. This accessory is basically 2 very strong oblong magnets that create the “oidz noise” when they collide in the air. Oidz are made from a natural metal called hematite (which is a type of iron oxide) that is highly polished and magnetized.

Magnets are so powerful that there are plenty of other fun uses for them, like placing one on top of the table and moving it with the other under the table.

Basic shot: Place the oidz in the palm of your hand, so that they are close to each other but not touching. Launch the oidz gently into the air and watch them collide with each other, create the noise of the oidz, and spin! Try some low shots from hand to hand and then try some high shots. How long can you make the noise oidz? Try throwing with the oidz farther apart, or even start with an oidz magnet in each hand and toss them so they collide. Each of these little experiments will produce different noises for different periods of time.

Sticky hand: Extend your hand, palm down, with fingers extended. Place one oidz magnet on top of your fingers, and the other oidz can be placed under your fingers and will stay in place with the magnet on top.

Tracking: Place one Oidz on a table and place the other Oidz directly under the table. You can move the oidz on the table by moving the one below! You could do a little oidz assault course, or even put the oidz in a small styrofoam box or cup, so people can’t see the magnet and think you’re doing magic.

Flutter: Place both oidz on a smooth, flat surface. Place the oidz end to end so that they lightly touch (you can use your thumb and forefinger to do this). Release both oidz at the same time, and they should make a pretty nice noise and briefly resemble the shape of a butterfly’s wings! If you try this trick on different surfaces, you will get a wide range of different noises.

Attraction: Place the oidz on a flat surface slightly apart and release. They must slowly make their way to each other and collide! Now increase the distance. How far apart can these magnets be started so that they still bond?

Pendulum and balance tricks: Try balancing one oidz under the other in a pendulum motion. This can be quite difficult! You can also try holding one Oidz magnet over the other to keep it upright and balanced on a flat surface.

Sculpture corner: You can put coins on the magnet and make cool sculptures!

To keep you and your Oidz in good condition

• Do not drop it on hard surfaces, as the oil can break down.
• If the oidz breaks, be very careful of the sharp edges. Pick it up carefully and throw it away.
• If your oidz get dirty, wipe them with a damp cloth.
• To maximize their magnetic effect, clean regularly, but always make sure they are dry before continuing to play!
• To keep your storage media (computers, cell phones, credit cards, music, and video tapes) in good shape, keep the oidz away! These are very powerful magnets and can erase the memory of these items!
• Do not use this product if you have a pacemaker or are near someone who has a pacemaker.
• Oidz are small and therefore pose a choking hazard especially for those under 3 years of age. Just be careful where you leave them!
