Dell Precision 3520 Review: A Powerful, Reliable, and Energy Star Rated Workstation for Professionals

An inexpensive workstation is something any small or medium-sized business should have, and that’s exactly what the Dell Precision 3520 offers. This 15-inch mobile workstation comes with enhanced performance features like Intel Xeon processors, NVIDIA graphics, faster memory speeds and more. There are three different display options, allowing you to use the device in various ways. The FHD display (if you choose it) offers crisp, clear images and easy-to-read text.

In addition to an innovative design, it also offers exceptional reliability. The 3520 is certified by an independent software vendor to ensure high performance in critical applications. You can also use the Dell Precision Optimizer, which automatically tunes the machine to run popular ISV applications at high speeds.

The chassis is slightly lighter than its predecessor. This model has a starting weight of 4.79 pounds and measures 0.97 inches at the front, 14.61 inches wide, and 9.94 inches deep. A workstation that weighs less than 5 pounds is quite an impressive feat.

Dell Precision 3520 BASE technical specifications include:

• Processor: 2.8 GHz / 3.80 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 with Turbo Boost

• Integrated graphics: Intel HD 630

• Dedicated graphics: Nvidia Quadro M620 (2GB GDDR5)

• Memory: 16 GB 2-DIMM without ECC

• Hard disk: M.2 PCIe SSD Class 40 256 GB

As mentioned above, this workstation can be equipped with an Intel Xeon processor (quad-core 3.0 GHz / 4.0 GHz with Turbo Boost). You can also add additional storage space and 16GB – 32GB of ECC memory if you wish. The screen comes with a microphone and a camera. WWAN capability is optional.

Dell Precision 3520 ports and connectivity

The speakers and digital array microphone setup are dual-integrated. The microphones feature noise cancellation technology and work great with the MaxxAudio Pro by Waves feature. For charging and syncing with other devices, this Precision workstation comes with USB Type-C, USB 3.0, VGA, SIM card slot, HDMI, memory card reader, RJ45, security lock, and optional smart card reader. For security, there is the option to add a fingerprint reader to the palm rest.

The laptop runs on a 130W AC adapter when plugged in. For battery power, a 68 Wh ExpressCharge four-cell polymer battery is included. There is an option to go with a six-cell battery unit if you need the 3520 to last even longer on battery power.

If you want a green laptop, the Dell Precision 3520 is an EPEAT registered and Energy Star 6.2 compliant machine.

What types of Dell offerings are available right now? You won’t be disappointed if you invest in this good, durable workstation for your business. You can even lower the price a bit by using a Dell Precision 3520 discount code.
