Don’t ignore the importance of personal care

Many times the hectic pace of life makes it difficult to do the things we have to do for ourselves. Whether it’s time alone, meditation, reading, personal growth, or whatever else fulfills you, taking time for self-care is an important activity that shouldn’t be ignored.

NURTURE YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOURSELF

Many people are so driven by things like money, success, recognition, even caring for others, like family and friends, that they forget the importance of relationships not just with others, but with themselves. What I mean by a relationship with yourself is taking the time to participate fully in fulfilling activities that fill you, fill your spirit, and allow you to be full.

When you’re really “full,” you’re actually in a much better position to be successful in those other areas that drive you. Think about it. There has probably been at least one time in your life when you have been overwhelmed by something. Stress at work, illness, children, your spouse – these are all things that most of us will experience at some point in life, and the better prepared you are emotionally, physically, and spiritually, the better you can handle these situations.

REMEMBER WHAT IS IMPORTANT IN LIFE

Having goals related to money, success and recognition is great, and it is important that you have them, but it is also important to remember that there is more to life than just those goals. It’s also important to realize that taking the time to meet your own needs will help you not only achieve your goals, but also expand your limits.

For this reason, you shouldn’t feel guilty about taking time for yourself. You are not neglecting other people or other responsibilities when you do so. In fact, it is not a zero sum gain when you nurture their needs. Instead, the result is that you are not only more satisfied, but also the people around you. The synergistic result can lead to results far beyond what you had originally imagined!

YOU CAN DO IT!

So take fifteen to thirty minutes each day for your personal care. Whether you meditate, journal, listen to an audiobook or podcast, watch a video, doing these things will make you feel better about yourself, make you happier and more relaxed, and help you be more present in your daily life. .
