Novation Automap Control Software

Music development software has been around since the 1960s. Like any other technology. It has been refined and improved over the years to possibly its best condition. Today, computers can make musical notes on their own and it is widely recognized that the future of music is based on computers. One company that is at the heart of this musical future is Automap. Automap is music software that maps hardware controls to different software variables. Most MIDI controllers don’t control plugins well despite having sliders and knobs, Automap allows you to monitor how different controls alter the performance of music software. Novation’s Automap control software is unique to all Novation controllers and provides direct access to leading Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs).

How to use Novation Impulse 49 automatic control software:

There are several good Novation controllers currently on the market, but perhaps the most expressive of all is the Novation Impulse. There are three versions of Novation Impulse that you can choose from; the 61, 49 and 25 key versions. However, The Impulse 49 is the subject of our focus. It comes with smooth, easy-to-use function buttons, 45mm faders, a custom LCD screen, and numerous buttons to enhance your experience. All these features work perfectly with all major music programs and can be projected to other parameters as well. It also has pressure-sensitive drum pads that you can use to design arpeggios, create loop samples, and continuous rhythms. These drum pads can also serve as clip launchers in Ableton Live. Its multi-color function lets you know if a clip is being recorded (red), is playing (green) or has just been loaded (yellow). Perhaps its best feature is its compatibility with almost any device. It has a USB port and is class-compliant, making it easy to connect to Windows or Mac even without a power supply.

Using Novation Impulse 49 with DAW software:

The Novation Impulse 49 is designed to work with all major DAWs, including Fruity Loops Studio, Studio One, Garage Band, Logic, Cubase, Sonar, ProTools, and Ableton (included with purchase of Impulse). All you need to do is install any of the supported DAWs on your Windows or Mac and connect your Novation Impulse to your PC and create music.

Do you have to use DAW software with Impulse 49?

While you do not need to use DAW software to create music with this device, it is recommended that you do so if you want to get the most out of Novation Impulse and DAW software. It allows you to be more practical with the DAW in use, making your music more expressive and accurate. Novation’s Automap control software is currently running at version 4.1. A free update is available to all users and is much easier to configure than its predecessors and offers a better streamlined workflow. If you’re looking to buy a new DAW controller, whether it’s for work, school, or just for fun, you should definitely consider Novation’s Automap control software.
