Sports Comparison – Tennis and Basketball

Can we describe the differences and the similarities between sports as different as tennis and basketball? This question seems a bit unbelievable, but I will try to make such a comparison and see what the result will be.

In my opinion, the similarities between these two sports are easier to point out, and there are much fewer of them. All sports injure, and these two popular sports also injure. Breaking your legs or wrists happens just as often as other serious injuries. Bruises and scratches are so common that I shouldn’t even mention them.

Basketball is much more of a contact sport than tennis. Basketball players battle each other to rebound or steal the ball, often pushing each other and staying in the opponent’s path. On the other hand, tennis players do not have direct contact with each other. They touch each other only at the beginning and end of the match shaking hands or even giving each other a hug.

A tennis match is mainly held outdoors, while basketball matches are held only in sports halls. The time of the basketball game is limited and fixed while the time of the tennis game can be different. The result of the tennis match is determined after two out of three sets won by one of the players (sometimes these values look like three out of five).

As you can see (and I’m sure you know), tennis is a different sport than basketball, but it also has some similarities.
